Wonderful bread mixer

Love it.. good value for the money. Only downside is the bowl is permanently attached so cleaning is a pain. Makes beautiful bread.

BIG & HEAVY

First impression, before use. Not variable speed. It is HEAVY. If you don't have a place on the counter to keep it all the time, you're gonna need help moving it around. I think if you're keeping it in your kitchen cabinet, that cabinet is gonna take beating from lugging 100ish pounds of dead weight in and out of a confined space.

Very happy so far - pro level dough for consumer price!

I'm a home chef with a passion for making bread and pizza, and I always make my own dough from scratch. I've been considering a spiral mixer for some time, but I hesitated because these mixers tend to be large, heavy, and expensive. They primarily handle dough, making them 'unitaskers.'Over the years, I've used other home mixers—a KitchenAid, followed by an Ankarsrum mixer (after nearly burning out the KitchenAid motor with a batch of pizza dough). The Ankarsrum is a fantastic product and handled my dough better than the KitchenAid. However, I felt I wasn't achieving the strong, silky smooth, high-gluten dough I desired. When the Towallmark mixer went on sale and was available through Garvee, I decided to purchase it. The mixer arrived quickly and was securely packed in a wooden crate. It is heavy and heavy-duty, weighing almost 100 pounds. It took two people to deliver it to my house, leaving it in front of my garage. I used a small dolly to bring it inside and needed help to unpack and lift it out.The mixer is quite large, but it fits under my kitchen cabinets, and I can store it in a lower cabinet alongside my Ankarsrum. The bowl is non-removable, which is common for this type of mixer, especially at this price point. I cleaned the bowl and hook with soapy water (remember, any water in the bowl must be mopped out as it’s too heavy to pour into the sink) and immediately started making dough. The machine has only one speed, but this hasn’t been an issue. I mixed a Neapolitan dough for about 15 minutes and was thrilled to see the dough develop. I observed how strong the dough became in real-time as it started 'snapping' during mixing. I finally achieved a perfect 'window pane' with my freshly mixed dough, confirming it was mixed perfectly. It’s not perfect—the inside of the bowl is slightly rough, adding a bit of friction when mixing. However, considering its mixing performance and the price I paid, this is a minor complaint. It's a chain-driven mixer, and I took the top off to see the mechanics, including a picture of it. Time will tell how long it will last, but I'm optimistic it will serve me well for quite a while.Bottom line: if you make enough bread and pizza to justify a mixer like this and you're undecided, I strongly recommend buying it!

Wow!

I love this thing lol. I am very impressed so far, very well made and works great. I can’t speak to its longevity but so far this a great piece of kit and seems well made! (Warning, it is large and heavy, so don’t get this if you plan to move it around a lot. I actually like this quality, so not a problem for me. This is definitely a more commercial style appliance.)

Love it

I tried a 3 kg (7pound) recipe in it today and it works super smooth. I woried a bit, because it has only 450 watt engine. But it works perfectly. It fits also under the cabinets. So it is not so high like it says in the dimensions. I just have to slide it out to use it. Now I just hope the engine will last for long. I got just in case a 3 year protection plan for it. But if it keeps working like it does, it's definitely a good buy for that price. Cleaning was also easier as expected. Therfore that the bowl can't be removed.

Best small bread mixer period

I am a professional baker of 50 years experience. This mixer is modeled after mixers 30 times it size. It works perfectlyIf you only doing bread. This machine is designed solely for bread. It can do 4-5 loafs at a time or 20 loafs an hour. If you a novice baker. This machine might be too much for you. It takes a huge footprint and requires a dedicated circuit…. Saying all that. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Best damn mixer for dough there is for it size

Very Heavy and very powerful.

First of all, I Love this machine!!!It is Very powerful and if you are serious about making good quality pizza dough, this is the machine for you.The reason I only gave it 4 stars is for 2 reasons...1st, Its Very heavy. I think almost 100 pounds. If you dont have a good permanent place to keep it, its a pain to move. I had to buy a good sturdy plastic restaurant cart with wheels to move it around in my small kitchen but I understand Why its so heavy, the Motor is Amazing and it will mix the densest dough with No problem.2nd, it is a Pain to clean when finished. The top does Not lift up, the dough hook does Not come off to clean and the stainless steel bowl does Not come off for cleaning. So you need to make your dough so it pulls away from the edge of the bowl and then it will be easier to clean. You need lots of paper towels (not rags because you'll never get the dough off the rags) to wipe out the bowl and hook.If you Do buy a quality cart, make sure its stable enough so its not Top heavy and tip over, if it falls on you, its gonna hurt.Other then the two things I mentioned, I Still Love this machine. It make the Best Pizza dough I've ever had.

Heavy duty, works well.

Heavy duty machine and works well. Cleanup of the bowl is tedious, but still better then blowing up my Kitchen Aid mixer.
