I just love this tent. It took me 3 minutes to have it fully set up. Its alot bigger than i thought it would be too. I can't wait to go camping in it. Also, i have a queen size air mattress that will fit perfect in it.
My kids love this tent. It is very easy to setup, but still requires an adult or at least a teenager, simply because you have to reach to the top of the tent to slide the locking mechanism into place. This prevents the tent from folding up on you. It's heavy for a small-ish tent, but that's to be expected for the price and because it's a pop-up. I wouldn't want to go backpacking with it, but for backyard camping or car camping, it's perfect. It comes with stakes to secure it to the ground. There's only 1 door, but the opposite side has a mesh window for air flow. I do like that it has a flap just outside the door where you can leave your shoes.Overall, this tent is perfect for backyard/car camping and my kids love it.
Works absolutely perfect. I used it for a week in the mountains of Colorado where it rained every afternoon and don’t leak any. This is a very nice sized tent, it had room for a queen air mattress plus suitcases etc. setup was fast and easy. One thing I did and would recommend is getting higher quality tent stakes as with almost all tents.
We invited friends to go camping with us and we ordered this for them as they don't have one. They were super impressed at how easy it was to set up -- especially after putting up the two 6-person tents we brought with their many poles of different lengths. Putting it away was even easier, as it only took two people to do it in two minutes. There was a great deal of moisture the next morning probably from condensation, which I explained to our guests also happened to our tent, and it's not because it was leaking or that it rained.I took off one star because my two guests are skeptical that this is a 4-person tent unless it's for four kids. They said it is better suited for two with a comfortable space in between and for their backpacks. A child will make it three. My guests are two women who probably weigh 140-150 lbs. and are 5 ft and 5'5" tall. Since the dimensions for the 4-person tennis 7 ft wide I understand what they mean, especially if the person tends to toss and turn in their sleep. You can tell how small it looks next to the 6-person tent.My friends love this tent and want to buy their own. They simply want to clarify that it's more comfortable for 2-3 adults, not four.
I have a Marmot Limestone 6P tent - now that is a tent. It is also many times more expensive than this Howallk. I used them both side by side on a recent camping trip. Does the Howallk have the quality in terms of materials, workmanship, finish? Of course not. But it was sturdy, easy to pitch and strike, and had plenty of room for my 3 big kids w/ full air mattresses etc. Unless you're putting heavy use on it, I suspect it will last several seasons and when it finally dies you're not out a ton of coin. NB - weather was mild, no rain or wind conditions so my review is strictly based on 3 nights of car camping in July.
A pop up tent that took me less than 5 min to setup. It's kinda like a umbrella and locks in place. The simple instructions are sewn onto the bag. The most important part is to slowly set it up once before going on your camping trip. It comes with stakes and string to tie it down. Inside is pretty typical of a tent two zippered mesh windows, storage pockets. Folding it back down is pretty easy too, unlock the top and the tent collapses down the center, simply unlock each of the four legs to bend them into the center. Then fold each flaps in and wrap like an umbrella.Overall pretty happy, I just worry it not as simple to replace the rods if they snapped loke.my other tents in the past.-SterlingW
I'm not much of a "put a tent up" kinda gal. However, husband and I have a camping trip planned for later in the summer, so a tent was needed. We got this bad boy, and finally decided to try putting it up so we have an idea of what size mattress we could fit in there. Husband got the tent out of the bag, and it pretty much set itself up. Less than five minutes later it was done (minus the stakes, we didn't use this for this trial run). I love that the instructions are sewn into the carrying bag, making it pretty impossible for me to lose them (which I would do). I love that there are little hanging pockets on the inside, giving me space to stash a water bottle and some chapstick (two things I use on a nightly basis). There's also a little hole to run a cord through, should we find a little generator of some sort to use while in the tent (though that seems to defeat the purpose of going tent camping). There's a little hanging hook on the ceiling of the tent and it held out little lantern thingie pretty well. It's pretty lightweight, so I personally won't have a hard time carting it around. I'm actually looking forward to my camping trip!
The design of this tent is very similar to most portable tents. A good thick floor, single door with double zippers, adequate rain fly, plenty of ventilation. What we really like is the height, it's tall enough to stand up inside for someone 6ft tall and there is plenty of floor space. That extra height makes it so much easier to do stuff inside the tent vs the 4 person tents. The poles for setup on this are very long, but the tent was still easy to set up for two of us. The rain fly can go on either direction which made that easier the most. And the roof has tons of ventilation for clear nights without the rainfly. It also has all the standard bits and pieces, like an AC extension cord in Velcro door ( for that portable AC!!!), a stretchy miniature hammock in the ceiling. One nice thing is the cording is a bright color that makes it easier to see so hopefully people will trip over them less. The stakes are medium thickness, thicker then some of the super cheap tents, but still a bit on the thin side.Tear down is easy, the bag it comes with is big enough that we found it mostly easy to stuff the whole works back inside.
Maybe 4 tiny people if you left no room for anything but sleeping.Probably more comfy for 2 people and their belongings.Easy to set up- really loved that took maybe….1.5 mins? Super easy. The stakes it comes with are ok. Consider using your own.BUT I took this baby out to the desert for tha ksgiving and one night it got super cold and windy and I was extremely comfortable in just a hoodie. I watched the sunset from the small window. Condensation did build up on the inside in the mornings- but I don’t think you can help that in the desert. The floor of the tent is tough like a tarp and has a little “mat” out front to put your shoes on. Over all I love this tent and it’s coming on alot more trips with me!
Good little tent. I don't think you can fit 4 people comfortably, but you can try. 😂 Easy to put up. My son took it to Lost Lands festival. It didn't rain so not sure about leaking. Wish it had more ventilation. Material seems much thinner than our other, bigger tents. Good for camping in warmer weather though.
