Some hens take time

Unfortunately, my hens are afraid of the feeder, it makes a lot of noise when they step off so we added chair pads to blunt the sound. We also extended the plate that they step on so that they could not just reach the food without stepping on it. It’s been a week and they are still needing help to eat from it.

It is sturdy and there were no sharpe edges or burrs. The function is perfect. It is very effective at keeping the pullets from spilling their food, as well as from standing in and pooping on the food.

I love this automatic chicken feeder -best I've found.

It holds a whole bag of feed with the extension, the chickens can't make a mess or poop in it and it keeps feed from being ruined by rain or shared by rats and mice. This is my favorite feeder ever.

I love this chicken feeded. If you hare having a rodent infestation, the treadle style feeder seems to be the only true rodent-proof style out there, and this brand and model (25 lb.) are great -- well-designed, well-made and very functional.

I recommend this feeder and I’m going to love that each feeder will hold 25 pounds of feed, I won’t have to fill it very often

Rat proof chicken feeder

For preventing rat, squirrels from stealing feed. Also, rainy days, feed has stayed dry! I want to buy it for my little chick's and I'll be able to training them not to freak out every time it opens.
