If you’re looking for a 6” sander to use at home, this is it. Great quality, not that heavy to handle, and has plenty of power. The only complaint that I have is the vacuum, it’s not very strong at all but I tend to clean the garage fully before I spray anyways so it’s not too big of an issue.
I brought this by chance, I'm extremely happy with it!! It's quickly replacing my Dewalt!
I needed a 5” in this style but they’re all 6”. I tried a couple and many use a non standard backup pad attachment so switching pads wasn’t an option. I’m happy to report that this one uses the standard 5/16” thread for backup pads so I was able to install a 5” 3M Xtract backup pad with no issue. The 5” Xtract pad fits right under the dust shroud of the sander so all of its dust collection holes are utilized. All of my use will be with 5” discs so this was important for me.As others have said the included dust hose is more trouble and annoyance than it’s worth. Plan on getting an alternate dust collection connector. If you already have a dust extractor setup that probably won’t be too much of a challenge. The sanding performance seems on par with others in the price range. Since I’m using it with 5” pads it’s probably not working as hard as it would with 6” so I haven’t had any of the slowdown issues others have reported. It seems worth mentioning that the included 6” backup pad is customized to route the dust pickups toward the center so the dust holes would be under the shroud. So the 6” Xtract backup pads probably wouldn’t work and I haven’t seen that particular design available on Garvee so replacing the 6” pad with another that supports dust collection may be difficult. The buttons and indicator for adjusting speed seem to work as well as any other model I tried. I do wish the cord was longer. The included sandpaper seemed adequate to start and test the unit but I won’t be using those discs further. Net discs are the way to go with this sander.I will be keeping this one and will update this review if anything changes. The vendor was responsive to my initial concerns so that gives me hope that should any warranty issue come up they’ll take care of it.
I bought this about a month ago to pair with my FEStool ct15 as a daily auto body paint prep sander. I have been really happy with the performance so far. I took a risk when I ordered this as I didn't know if I would be able to use it with my dust extractor but with the small adapter they send it fits almost perfect. The pad it comes with has holes that line up with my 3m sand paper. I run it on a 5 power level and it has held up to at least 30 minutes plus of continuous use without over heating in the summer weather as my shop doesn't have A/C in the paint department. Having used a mirka sander this I a bit bulkier but not so much to make it unusable plus I found the mirka to heat up more. Overall happy especially for the price I was able to get it for.
This sander is working hard for a 4 star, but it's very effective for lighter duty use. I'll say my 15+ year old Bosch (Swiss made) 5" ROS can handle more aggressive grits than this 6" DA that's supposed to be for two hand operation. While this has lots of nice features and a very smooth and quiet brushless motor for power, it's seriously lacking the power to allow me to power through some larger sanding tasks with the 6" surface area. I purchased additional 40-120 grit assortment of 3M 6" pads to get a few old worn cedar planks sanded down smooth, but it was bogging a bit with the 40 grit. It was much happier starting with 80 and above on some soft wood, so this is where my conclusion comes with this sander being of lighter duty. The ergonomics of forward section has decent ergos and fully overmolded for excellent traction, but the rear blocky hand grip is really not great after several hours of use and trying to find the appropriate support position. Many sharp edges and such an odd shape to be able to grab with my medium size 8 hands. If you have small hands, you'll likely find it even less comfortable with the rear section. The paddle switch is massive and works well. Power is activated via a momentary digital switch with digital speed control interface. It ranges from "4/5/6/7/8/9/A". Speeds can be preset prior to activating via paddle switch or actively set during use with paddle switch engaged. Speed transition is smooth and vibration is low.Several trial pieces of 6" sanding discs are included, but I purchased my own hook and loop discs right when I ordered this and the pad has good hook and loop adhesion with other brands. The vacuum hose that's included is quite disappointing and very cheap as mine arrived kinked in several areas. It has a very easily crushed/ kinked accordion-like construction, but several adapters in silicone and the hard plastic variety are included for extracting sanding dust. Fit my basic Rockler hose system well with the included extraction adapters. The cord is right about 10 feet long on mine and gives ample room for work. There is a wrench included for pad removal/ replacement, but you’ll have to get past the rubber dust seal to engage the flats. I removed mine and it appears to be a standard 6” disc with normal threads for these polishers/ sanders (no reverse thread). If keeping in mind that your project demands are lighter duty, this sander works great and for the cost without dealing with pneumatics, it's also lightweight and easily maneuverable (except for the rear grip ergonomics). The slightly underperforming power with aggressive grits, and sharp, unfriendly grip-ability of the rear area really warranted a 3.5 star, but I've rounded up since the quirks were minor.
These are for a 9inch sander. Includes a variety of levels of sanding paper. Not the best quality but will get the job done.
You get 30 9 in hook and loop sanding discs. You get 5 80 grit, 5 100 grit, 5 120 grit, 5 180 grit, 5 240 grit, and five 320 grit. They are not the greatest sanding discs in the world, but for the price they work very well.
The title says 9 hole but they're actually 6 hole. I tried to contact them for clarification and received no response.Nonetheless, they're exactly what I needed. The quality is pretty much as expected for a generic brand, they wear down a lot faster than the name brand alternatives. But this is a terrific value for a 30 piece assortment, so I have no room to complain. Thumbs up.
I love it,I'm a corded Dremel owner,It's bulky and akward for finer work. I just happened across this one,and for the price,I was extremley impressed w/ the 3 speed setting,I think my Dremel attatchments will fit the 2 different collets.Starter attatchments are included.5 STARS! UPDATE: this has a little headlight too(did not notice at first)
I've already used this handy gadget many times. It is easy to set up and operate. If you have ever used a dremel type tool before it is very similar. Being cordless makes working in tight spots easy. The only issue with it being cordless is that with too much push the drill will lock up and stop spinning so you have to ease up on the pressure and turn it on again. Otherwise it is a great tool with lots of attachments that make it very useful for around the house.
