Reviews
Ok first the bad: it broke on the first pass on its first use. However! Looking at all the others on Garvee with similar price point, they are all going to have the same problem. The attachment is bolted to the receiver arm with 1 both that is about 1/4-5/16 thick. Then the swing channel does not have individual holes, it is a constant channel, so there is no way to stop it from swinging side to side. The channel has a pin with a clevis to keep it in place. So with that design, and the thin clevis, as you pull forward, the rakes wants to torque "up" which breaks the thin clevis pin retainer, which then bends the thin square tubing and the skinny bolt breaks and the weld nut breaks off.The connection hardware is not strong enough for this application. The good: mine arrived complete, the tine connection hardware appears to be very good stainless with locking nuts. It is also SAE 1/2", not metric which I was expecting, so that's cool.Assembly was easy enough. So, why 4 stars? Sorry, it won't earn 5 because it broke. However, I'm still very happy with the purchase, and it's faults can be fixed easily.First, I'll drill out and install a 1/2" attachment bolt instead of the thin bolt they used. I'll then drill out a few tilt angle points so it can be in a fixed angle position instead of the sweep option it had now with no stops. And I'll probably use a spacer inside the tubing to keep it from collapsing or just get a stronger tube. I'll still end up ahead of any name brand rake. But I can't imagine this being successfully deployed as designed, but it's cheap and you get what you pay for.
Needed it to clean up sticks in the woods after having it mulched. Worked but it would bounce over the ground failing to pick up anything, this was fixed somewhat by chaining a 15 lb dumbbell onto the center of it. Probably asking it to do more that it was designed for as the tines would bend occasionally and have to be bent back but overall worth it.
