Reviews
Firstly, I am a complete novice when it comes to pizza ovens - I have tried making pizzas on the grill and in my oven with moderate success - but I have had nothing that reaches such a high temperature. I did follow the advice from reviewers: I bought a very nice round pizza peel for rotating the pizzas; I already had a wooden pizza peel which I use to put the pizzas in the oven - most reviewers felt that the slatted version that comes with the oven is not a good fit for newbies. And finally, I made small, very simple pizzas on my first attempt. Did they look great? No. Did they taste good? Yes, yes, yes. I am so happy with this little oven; it is straightforward to set up and, if you leave the propane canister attached, there is no fuss. Preheat for 15 minutes and away you go - brandishing that small round pizza peel which allows you to spin pizzas easily. I was not happy with the dough I used for my first batch (Jim Lahey's version, which is very soft and sticky and really meant for normal ovens). I intend trying a different one next time.My first pizza was simply dough, garlic and olive oil - a flat bread really - but the crust was excellent. I did add a few things to some of the others and also tried a pizza al taglio (a potato pizza); I was not really organized with sauces and toppings, so it was just cheese and fresh tomatoes - they all tasted good and we ate far too much! I don't really feel the need to make the biggest possible pizza that would fit in the oven, and like the idea of making small ones. I am looking forward to inviting some friends round, and having them select their own toppings, and sitting around sipping wine, baking and eating pizzas!Review for: Pizza Oven Outdoor, Gas Pizza Ovens, 12" Pizza Maker Portable Gas Powered Propane with Pizza Accessories for Backyard Camping outside
It ensures my pizza cooks quickly and evenly, resulting in a crispy, perfectly charred crust, and delicious melty toppings. The flavor and texture are outstanding, making this pizza oven a must-have for any pizza lover. One of the standout features of this product is its portability. Whether I'm using it at home or on camping trips, it's very convenient and versatile.
The Pizza Oven is a marvel for pizza lovers. It rapidly reaches 950°F in just 10-15 minutes, enabling you to savor a scrumptious pizza in minutes. Easy to operate, it features a one-touch ignition and a conveniently located regulator, allowing you to adjust the firepower while keeping a close eye on your pizza. This outdoor pizza oven adds extra delight to your gatherings, ensuring more time to enjoy the mouthwatering flavors and party festivities.
The oven is solid and well made. I found it easy to light after some bumbling failed attempts. If all else fails, they included a long piece of spring wire with loops at both ends to hold a match for manual lighting. (It’s not mentioned in the instructions and initially had us scratching our heads as to its purpose.) The gas connections were solid and well made. All in all, the oven is easy to set up and is highly portable. They say to preheat the oven and stone for 15 minutes. That may be just right, but I strongly recommend buying an inexpensive laser thermometer to make sure the temperature of the stone is correct and stabilized. The most important thing to know, of course, is will it make good pizza? Yes, it will, but the learning curve is steep. I have some limited experience with high temperature home pizza cooking, using a pizza steel in a conventional oven. This oven’s use is similar but not identical. My first effort was a disaster. (Note my too thick, uneven crust in the picture.) Second try, after watching a few how-to videos, was way better and made a pretty great pizza. Here’s what you need to know. (1) Most importantly, preheat for at least the recommended 15 minutes on the Preheat setting, then, when the stone is above 700F, turn the heat to the LOW setting. This is critical. The low setting plus the heat that is conducted to the bottom of the pizza and radiated by the stone are what cook the pizza quickly and evenly, not the high flame at the rear. If you leave it on high, you might as well torch the pizza. It will be scorched at the back and edges and bottom and raw in the middle.(2) Dust your hands, the pizza peel and the dough ball liberally with semolina flour or cornmeal to prevent sticking and give it a good launch into the oven. Get premade pizza dough or make it yourself with 00 pizza flour.(3) Make a thin uniform crust. I had to youtube this and still had a difficult time of it.(4) Go light on the toppings or you will have a topheavy, wet mess.(5) Launch the pizza directly onto the preheated stone with a firm shove and a shake.(6) Turn the pizza a 1/4 turn when the rear edge starts to char slightly, around 15 seconds or a little more, and the bottom has crisped up enough to slide. You can do it with the rectangular peel they provide by pulling the pizza completely out and using a fork to spin it while it sits on the peel. A better idea is to buy a small circular peel. I already had one (see it in the picture, lying on top of the oven). I found that the round peel could turn the pizza without taking it out of the oven. I could also use it to spin the pizza while out of the oven on the rectangular peel.(7) Continue turning until the pizza is done. Enjoy! All in all, this oven is an excellent entry level home pizza oven. With some effort and experience, you can make superb, professional level pizzas.Oh, let me not leave this review without mentioning that there are some other great uses for this oven besides pizza. You can find many lists online of things to cook in home pizzas ovens, such as sheet pan roasted vegetables. You can even roast a whole array of vegetables and meats separately and let people top their own pizzas…
The 12” pizza oven is a good product to have. I like that the kit comes with everything you need. The oven has a carry bag along with a pizza paddle and cutter. The pizza oven is easy to use and the gas is a quick connect. I would recommend this for the value and the quality
This portable propane pizza oven came well packaged and in good shape. Installation and testing took only a few minutes. The design is sleek and simple. After I tried it a few times, the end result was a restaurant-quality thin crust pizza in just a few minutes. We are very happy with the results and the price on Garvee is great!
This pizza oven boasts a thoughtful design that's lightweight and easy to carry, making it simple to take to the campsite or beach. The foldable legs are a great feature for compact storage. The included accessories like the pizza peel and gas adapter are super practical and easy to use. Plus, the safety features give me peace of mind, and I have no worries during the cooking process. It's truly an ideal choice for family outdoor gatherings.
Got this for my son for his birthday he absolutely loves it.
I really like this pizza oven. Makes wonderful homemade pizza. Very easy to heat up and use. Easy to set up and delicious!
There’s no flavor like that of wood fired. It gets super hot very fast and super easy to use. Great product, clean up is very quick and easy too!
