I’m not sure who in the world would look at this and think this is completely predator proof. I have another (what I consider) predator proof chicken run but if bears lived in our area, they could rip right through it.It would only be good for dogs if they don’t attempt to get out 😆.The mesh is sufficient for birds but will not withstand any kind of animal that is determined to get in.I have an enclosure, attached to this run that I put my birds in at night. It is also as close to predator proof as I can get.If you just need a run for daytime and don’t have hardcore predators, this is an easy alternative.
Putting this chicken run together was a breeze. It was perfect for our needs. Our new feathered friends got used to it immediately and seem to love it. This is my second purchase of this product; I gave the first one to my granddaughter, and we are both satisfied with them.
This is a 10/10 chicken coop! Its sturdy, nice size, & was easy to install!
For the price I feel like we got a decent value. Was easy assembly. I expect the zip ties will dry out in the sun after a year or two, but that's an easy fix (x 300). The chickens appear to be much happier, their egg output has nearly doubled this first week with the additional space.
They were limited in a pretty small coup. Excellent chicken run kit. The frame is sturdy enough and super easy to put together. The door lined up perfectly and the door latch works fine. They provide plenty of chicken wire to do the job, and more than enough zip ties (a 400 count bag). I would recommend this product.
Arrived and assembled the 1st frame, plus wrapped with the included chicken wire, up the side, over the top, and down the other side (less waste & cutting). I'm late 50s, and did it myself, ordered the 2nd cage, assembled that & added the chicken wire. I did leave some on the ground to make a ground apron for the perimeter & piled rocks on top of it. I used pipe clamps to attach the 1st unit to our shed, then hose clamps to attach the 2 units together, and staked all the feet. Added the tarps that came with it to cover the 1st unit roof fully, picked up a 10x12 white/clear greenhouse tarp for the 2nd unit, so the chickens can have shade & sunny areas. It's a good set up, easy to assemble, there are cons, the zip ties are short & thin, you'll want to get some heavy-duty zip ties, or hog tie plyers. The door latch does not lock, it's more of a slip hinge pin style, I'm using a combined bungee cord to tie it closed, and it comes with the chicken wire, but that's only good to keep the chickens in, it is not predator proof. I will be adding hardware cloth mesh over top of the chicken wire. I also have a 3rd unit separately for my bigger hens. If you pull the chicken wire tight and tarp, it will carry a few inches of light snow. Anything more or wet snow should be cleared off as the roof supports are 1 at the front, 1 rear, and 1 in the middle, the span is too far apart to carry anything more than 1 or 2 inches of snow. It is a good set up, assembly is easy, but plan to reinforce it and add a better latch. I do recommend.
I ordered this and my husband had not seen it. Lol. We just put it up and it was simple. We are in our 70's. The chickens are going to be happy.
Got to me fast, the wire is thin but for the price well worth it for fast easy chick yard.
Our last two groups of hens have been attacked by raccoons and skunks, and with the Hen Houses you buy couldn't protect them well enough. This enclosure with building a new Hen House has finally provided the protection our hens have needed. We also extended a skirt of wire two feet out along the ground at the bottom edge to protect from digging underneath from happening. Our hens are now happy and safe and producing wonderful eggs for our family even in these short days of winter.
Good quality and good bang for the buck. I'll recommend. Time will tell on durability etc.
