This is a very large heating pad that has many uses. This heating pad is the size of a bath mat. I have used it like a throw blanket on my lap while watching TV. I have put it in my bed to warm up the sheets before bedtime. I have draped it around my shoulders for a sore neck. I have wrapped it around my cold feet. But my favorite way to use it is to put it down on the couch and let my geriatric dog with arthritis lie on it to soothe her aching joints. You have never seen a more content pooch!The cord is almost 9 feet long which is nice and allows for some flexibility in where you plug it in. The remote is pretty self explanatory with three buttons, one for timer, one for power, and one for heat level. This heating pad is definitely plug it in and go. There is no learning curve with this product. This heating pad does make a crinkling sound when you use it but it is not loud. I like that it has 6 levels of heat and a timer that can be set in 30 minute increments up to 2 hours. It also has a plush exterior making it feel like a cozy blanket. While I haven't actually thrown this thing in the washing machine yet, it does say it is machine washable so if my dog continues to enjoy it, I will definitely be testing out the washability of this heating pad soon.All in all, i think this is the most versatile heating pad I have. The size of it is really what makes this heating pad so nice. And because it is soft and pliable, you can lay it flat or wrap it around a sore body part, or drape it over your shoulders and enjoy the warmth it provides. I love this heating pad!

I ordered this heating pad because I needed one that was extra large. My husband sometimes has back problems, and he will put a heating pad on his back. But, our dog likes the warmth of the heating pad, and he always tries to pull it away from him. Solution -- buy an extra large heating pad and the two of them can sit side-by-side and both use it. It warms up quickly and it does get pretty hot, so we do not use the highest settings. It includes a timer and an auto-off, which are both nice features so that you do not need to worry about accidently leaving it on if you fall asleep. This is exactly what we needed and it's working great.
