It clicks when you turn it on but then it is a smooth dial to increase the speeds. I just have to pay attention on the dial when increasing the speeds.Overall, very happy with the mixer and now we plan to start on other baking ideas.

I bought this for my wife because she loves to bake. It was easy for her to assemble and use. It is powerful while still quiet during operation. I selected the red one because it looks great and it matches my kitchen. It's not too heavy but stays put when mixing. It saves her so much time and allows her to work on other things while it mixes.
