Beautiful, and love the size

I ordered the extra-large teak wood cutting board primarily for when I make bread and pasta. The 18” x 24” size is perfect because it has enough work area to easily knead the dough. I have found that even though it’s heavy (and that’s good), it does slide around on my granite counter top so I use a silicone placemat between the counter top and cutting board and that keeps it from moving around when in use. I’ve also found the ‘juice groove’ keeps some of the additional ingredients (such as cranberries) from rolling off the cutting board while I work them into the dough. When I’m just kneading plain dough, I flip it over and use the smooth backside. The teak wood is absolutely beautiful. The primarily light color with some dark highlights brightens up the kitchen, and the wood grain structure really makes it pop. There are also some cutout grip handles on either end and that makes it easy to grab and flip over, or just move around on the countertop.I highly recommend this cutting board.

NICEST CUTTING BOARD I HAVE EVER SEEN

This board looked really nice in the description and the pictures were beautiful, but they do not do it justice because it is absolutely gorgeous. I have had the same cutting board (really nice, large Bamboo) for over 23 years and I never saw another one that I really liked. I am so glad I have had the opportunity to acquire this one. Although I was able to get it at no cost as a a VINE reviewer, I would buy this in a second, it is by far the nicest looking and well-made cutting board I have ever seen and now I own it.There isn’t much more one can say about a cutting board, but this is made from Teak, put together with precision and finished to a smooth, polished surface and treated with oil (they said vegetable oil, but I will use my usual cutting board treatment when the time comes. The properties of Teak wood are incredible for moisture resistance and hardness that makes it an item that will last a lifetime and I will probably pass it on to my daughter eventually .Even though it is considered “reversible” I am going to put some non-marring small rubber feet on the flat side to raise it off the counter and keep it from sliding like I did with my bamboo cutting board with stainless screws. The only slightly negative thing I might say it the blood groove is a little rough, so I touched it up with some 400 grit sandpaper. Finally, I think the price of $69.99 is amazing for a product that is so impressive and well made, I might just buy another one for my daughter for Christmas.

Just Beautiful

Just beautiful was the very first thought I had when I pulled this out of it's box. This had a good weight to it and the side insert handles are great making it so much easier to move from one place to another. The grain and colors are stunning..I love this so much that I decided I am not going to be doing food prep or cutting directly on it, instead I placed my glass cutting board on top of it 🙂

Go big or go bigger!

I recently received "Extra Large (XL) Teak Wood Cutting Board with Juice Groove and Grip Handles for Kitchen with Juice Groove, Reversible Charcuterie Butcher Block 20x15x1.5 in" and my hunt for my Forever Cutting Board may have come to its end! This cutting board is so pretty and so solid that I really don't think I'll ever need a replacement. There may be need for a cutting board of a different size or shape, but for general use, this one is going to cover nearly all the bases. This board is relatively large, so storage may be a consideration if you're thinking of ordering. The cabinet in my kitchen where I keep cutting boards isn't actually large enough for this one, so I have it in the pantry. Not ideal, but my kitchen storage is a perpetual work in progress, so it is what it is. I may end up doing some reorganization and put ALL the cutting boards in a designated space in the pantry since I prefer things to be neatly kept together when possible and this board in particular requires more room.Space in my kitchen has always a challenge. The amount of usable, functional counter space is limited, so one of the things that I find particularly great about this board is that I can use it on top of my glass top electric range when I'm still doing food prep. No, I can't USE the burners while this board is on top of them, of course, but that's just one of the many compromises we have to make when our kitchens were designed by people who don't actually use a kitchen! It's still nice to use the SPACE where the stove is though, and this board provides ample prep area for pretty much any cooking I'm doing. As for upkeep, I'm not too worried about this board holding up. It seems so solid and durable, and I know teak is commonly used for cutting boards because of its easier on knives and is naturally water resistant. Wanting to be a good cutting board dad, I conditioned my board immediately after receiving it, but I'm pretty sure it was already conditioned and didn't need my heavy handed front-end TLC. I definitely recommend a periodic conditioning though. Personally, I use a food-grade mineral oil on my boards to help prevent them from getting too dry and it's been a game changer. And remember, never, ever, ever put your cutting board in the dishwasher!TL;DR VERSION:PROS: >SAFETY: In this new "Fear of Microplastics" era we've entered, I was already eliminating my old, plastic cutting boards and replacing them with natural materials that pose no risks as far as BPA and microplastics are concerned. This board is teak, one of the hardest woods out there, so it's safe AND should last many, many years. >SIZE: This board is 20"x15" and is the largest cutting board I currently own. I cannot imagine me needing one larger than this (but as always, measure twice)! >APPEARANCE. This board is truly beautiful and would justify its own "out in the open" storage so it can be put on display. >USE: As large and as beautiful as it is, ultimately a good cutting board needs to work well and be easy to use. Thankfully, this one is. I love the juice-grooves in particular. My last couple of nice board were completely flat and I missed having that little gutter along the perimeter to keep liquids from spilling over onto the counter.CONS: >SIZE: As much as the size of this board IS an asset (to me), it could very well be too large for some people, if for no other reason than storing a board of this size can be tricky. Tighter kitchens often lack reasonable storage, so check out where you plan to store it and make sure you can. >PRICE: I've never shelled out $60 for a cutting board, but I've also had very few NICE cutting boards until fairly recently. I think this one falls into the category of "you get what you pay for," and in this case, I think you're paying for quality, so that sort of negates it being a negative for me, but I absolutely understand how it could be considered too expensive for many.As you can see, my personal likes and dislikes lean heavily in favor of this board. My negatives are both truly personal preference and for me would be removed from the list entirely, but are points I feel would come up for many buyers. In all, very pleased with "Extra Large (XL) Teak Wood Cutting Board with Juice Groove and Grip Handles for Kitchen with Juice Groove, Reversible Charcuterie Butcher Block 20x15x1.5 in" and I feel it is worth the asking price (as I type this review it is listed at $59.99).Happy to recommend.

Beautiful

Beautiful cutting board that is incredibly thick and heavy. This will last for years as long as it’s taken care of and isn’t left in water. The wood grain is just gorgeous. This was the perfect size to fit over my stove burners and provide me with some extra space.

More like a work of art

This is one beautiful cutting board. It's very big, but easy to move with the hand cutouts into the sides. Great addition to my kitchen.
