For my Family this is worth having. Before I bought this,we were using a small hot pot always heating up water. This is worth buying and having hot water all day!
Bought this for a bull sale we were having at our ranch. I started it about an hour before the sale started and it was ready to serve within about 40 minutes. Kept the coffee hot and worked great for serving a crowd of people.
We bought two of these to use in our concession stand at softball games. We use one for coffee and one for hot chocolate. They work really well- heat up quickly, easy to use, and easy to clean.
Made a batch of coffee and it was good. Let it brew 1 minute per cup. Once brew time is complete you will need to remove the basket and stem to stop the percolation. Use a heat pad when removing to protect your fingers! It held the heat well for several hours. Great price and would highly recommend. We used our freshly ground coffee beans (coarse) which I think made the coffee full bodied.
This is the 3rd urn I’ve purchased. I know that seems like I’m dissatisfied with them. But on the contrary I love that Hamilton Beach coffee urn. We have a lot of coffee drinkers in our home and we use almost 30 to 40 cups a day. I replaced my other one with this model because of the way the coffee is dispensed. The previous one had a dispense mechanism that you push the cup against the unit for the coffee to fill the cup. That mechanism contained a spring which became worn out and the coffee didn’t come out in a consistent manner. This particular unit has a lever that you control with a coffee to fill the cup. It seems to work a lot better than my previous ones. I’m happy I changed models although both of them make great coffee.
bought this for a wedding open house to serve hot cocoa with donuts, worked great. is a struggle to clean and get stains out. but it did the job we needed and heats up fairly quickly. you cant control temperature but we didnt have an issue with cocoa
I am not a coffee drinker, but we host several early morning events that coffee is needed. This is a perfect size and so easy to use. Just add water, coffee, and turn it on. The coffee stays hot and is easy to refill if needed.
Perfect machine for small to large gatherings. We do meets at the beach and I am able to make coffee at home and bring it down in this. Works great and stays hot for a good amount of time after being unolugged
Love this coffee urn. I had one from like 10 years ago and the cord got all jacked up so I decided to buy another one cause it was the most awesome urn I ever had. This one does not disappoint. It does get very hot to the touch.. uh hello it’s metal, so be careful. Other than that easy peasy.
I ordered this for Thanskgiving dinner. It worked great as long as you follow a few simple rules and adjustments. 1. I followed the guidelines for the # of cups of coffee grounds in the manual. It was spot on! The minor adjustment at the suggestion of mu son, was to use a standard drip coffee filter as a filter for the maker. The holes are rather large and even with a course grind, it was falling into the water. I cut a small square in the coffee filter than spread it on the bottom of the percolator coffee holder. No grounds in the coffee! It was easy fix. Everyone loved the coffee! Highly recommended if you make the adjustment.
